Sara E. Thorp, DO
Hospitalist
Dr. Thorp is an experienced Family Physician who has been in practice for over 10 years and is working at CGH as a Hospitalist. Her appreciation of science and the human body led her to health care, but the direct interaction with her patients led her to medicine. Dr. Thorp was drawn to the values, culture, and people she encountered at CGH where everyone works together as a team toward a goal of clinical excellence and compassionate care. This culture promotes relationships with patients and colleagues that allow patient care to focus on the patient as a whole person, who is part of a family and community. She appreciates and feels honored that her medical knowledge and clinical tools can be used to help her patients develop a deeper understanding of what is going on with their bodies, so they feel empowered to make more informed decisions about their own health care, even during difficult times. When she is not at work, Dr. Thorp enjoys gardening, cooking, hiking, traveling, and language learning.
